Lucky Thornbury residents already received prizes in previous months’ Sustainable Thornbury Go MAD competition prize draws! All prizewinners had entered after making some energy saving change in their homes such as putting in energy saving lightbulbs.
Jenni Wood and her eco-warrior children Joseph (9), Jake (7) and Rosie (5) are celebrating with their Ecokettle which will help them boil just the right amount of water each time. Chris McCluskey hopes to get some more energy-saving tips from her choice – the book of the TV series Its Not Easy Being Green. Other prizewinners chose savaplugs to reduce the cost of running their freezers.
The competition continues to run throughout the winter and there are prizewinners every month, with prizes supplied by South Gloucestershire Council. Click here for more information→ Go Mad!

Sustainable Thornbury is looking for houses or flats for an Eco-Makeover. The group wants to find different types of houses and flats to use as demonstrations of how to improve the energy efficiency of your home.
Sustainable Thornbury will work with you the householder to carry out an energy survey and help make the improvements.
We are currently selecting the participating homes, and will report back on how they get on via this website, mythornbury.com, The Gazette and Thornbury Magazine.

Over the next few months, the group will be running events and competitions for everyone to encourage people in Thornbury and surrounding villages to improve the energy efficiency of their homes - both by changing the way that things are done and by improving the way houses are insulated. The Thornbury Gazette will be following the project, showing our progress and publishing regular energy saving tips on how to reduce your bills by making changes.
mythornbury.com are also helping with the project, so keep checking there and here at EnergyEfficiency for further info!
