Groups,
projects and campaigns
Sustainable
Thornbury has several working groups and projects in progress.
They meet as necessary, often about once a month, to plan and discuss.

Some of the current groups are:-
- Grow
Your Own Food. A self-help group for gardeners. Also responsible for maintaining the community orchard in Gloucester Road
Thornbury, opposite the Anchor pub.
- The waste group. This group has produced a local directory of
recycling and waste, and is setting up a Thornbury Freegle internet group,
similar to Freecycle;
- EcoFair.
Repeating the show of sustainable ideas, workshops, goods and
services first held in 2010 at the Chantry. This is planned for 19th May
2012.
- A project to work with local businesses, called
Building a New Local Economy.
- Involvement with schools.
Working with primary and secondary schools in the area.
- A community sustainability project using farm land at Lodge Farm.
There are also one newly set up group looking at starting a possible future project:-
- A campaign for alternatives to bottled water;
