Thornbury EcoFair - Saturday 22 May 2010

Thornbury's first EcoFair will take place on Saturday 22nd May, in the historic community-owned Chantry in the heart of Thornbury.

The EcoFair is being organised with the aim of giving people more information about positive choices towards a low carbon future. The future may be uncertain but ST believes that we don’t have to be gloomy – there are plenty of ways to live our lives and have fun – without costing the Earth! (See our aims.)

We are putting on a wide range of attractions, including activities for both children and adults, indoors and outdoors, a performance space for talks, music, and stories which will go on throughout the day. There will be stalls to buy sustainable goods and services, demonstrations, information stalls and food and drink.

We are also running a competition to make a greetings card using recycled materials. The closing date for entries is Friday 14th May, and the winner will be announced at the EcoFair.

For children under 12, there is even an opportunity to get your whole family into the event for free.

The event will start at 10.30am, and daytime events, stalls and workshops continue until 4pm. In the evening, we will join with ACT (Arts and Community in Thornbury) to present a folk concert showcasing the local area's prodigious talent.

Entry charges: individuals 50p, families £1

Do come and join us in an event that will be uplifting and inspiring, thought provoking and informative and above all, fun and a good day out!
